Fuel Pump / Relay issues
 

I've been having issues starting the old girl and did some investigation to find out how and why the fuel system works.

It's all okay now but here's a YouTube video of what I did to identify the problem (it wasn't the relay or the pump !)

An excellent, logically thought out and well presented video.

The only thing that worries me is earthing the blue/yellow wire whilst it has 12 volts on it - might I suggest that de-pinning the wire at the connector and a separate earth wire would be kinder to the ICM.

That's a very good point, and exactly what I do with my fuel injected bikes, as earthing the relay return affects a whole bunch of other sensors. Great suggestion. Thanks.
