fuel line problem

on second look, it looks like these are two of the air supply lines for the carbs. it's so that they have the correct pressure. Was your bike running funny at all? wouldn't go over a certain speed? Do you have an air vent solenoid valve on your bike?

yea it wouldnt go over fast at all really. i dont think so. but then again the previous owner could have taken it off. are these suppose to have vacuum lines runing to them.

here is a diagram of the hoses. it looks like the hoses that you are talking about are coming from the outlet of the air vent solenoid valve. these hoses originally start at the air box and in front of the bike, these are very important hoses and if not hooked up correctly the bike will run like ***. here is a pic, set you bike up like this

i dont even have it on the bike previous owner must have taken it off

if you look at the diagram you can reroute the hoses to bypass the solenoid. i'm betting thats your problem. what are your other symptoms?

engine flooding really bad, just bought the bike so i dont know how long the gas has been sitting, could have gummed up inside the carb making the float stick. i drained the gas and am puttinhg new stuff in.

ok so im about to buy a air vent solenoid valve setup, everything from thefront of the bike back to the carbs. for 130. is that an alright price. and will this help with the fuel leak problem.
