stupid newbie question.... but, i think my front forks are low on oil, they're leaking at the bottom seal, and when I go over bumps it feels like when a ball joint is loose on a car. Like a clunking. Is there a way to fill it up or check it?

 

if it's leaking you must replace the fork seals.

the shock is no longer working as designed as it can't as much pressure within the system.

get that seal replaced!

 

could be loose steering head bearings too...

 

why does that sound expensive?......

 

Not too big a deal....take the upper tripple clamp off, right under it is two spanner nuts with a lock-tab washer between them...bend the tabs away from the upper spanner nut, and loosen it slightly (using a hammer and a punch)...then tighten the one below it....not too tight mind you....light tapping with the hammer will suffice....then retighten the lock nut on top, align locking tabs, bend them back up, put the upper clamp back on.

Yes, a shop will charge you a fortune....maybe 2 hours....BS. do it yourself in 45 minutes.
