Are frame sliders worth it on the F3?

it looks like they are mounted so low that they would hardly prevent any damage being done, jw if anyone has installed them and found out later that it was a great decision.
i just ordered some shoguns and i will be installing them im just curious as to how theyve treated other people

do you mean is it alot of trouble?... nah, just take your time and get correct measurements and don't half *** it.. pleanty of tutorials out there for cutting the fairings...
now is it worth it as in damage wise? yes.
for 20-50bucks you can save yourself a hand full of puzzle-piece fairing.

Frame sliders may still skuff up your plastics... as a matter of fact, if your bike drops without a stunt cage theres a 99.999999999% chance things are gonna be messy...
BUT...
You won't lose your entire fairing.
yeah i was pretty sure they are definately worth getting thats why i bought them, i suppose i should have phrased the question a little differently but spicy answered what i meant to say.
if the bike is dropped, its most likely gonna be damaged frame sliders or not. Frame sliders just help prevent total fairing loss and may even have you luck out once or twice.
but it just seems like they could be mounted somewhere better lol obvs this is impossible with the way the stock frame is designed.

No. All frame sliders are for is to protect the frame. Though you may get lucky and save some plastic with them, they are not made to salvage plastics.
Yeah and given the mount location for the F3, its not gonna save the plastics much at all. Might prevent a lethal shot to the stator / clutch tho.
i have them on my bike and they saved me once. i tried to teack this chick how to ride, ya i know big mistake, well she got about two feet and dropped it and the only thing i lost was my mirror plastics were fine, but i don't really think they will hold up if you dump it at anything over 30mph they're not in the best location.. imho
A friend of mine just hit a truck with his new CBF1000 (it turned left in front of him). He says frame sliders would have saved his rad, footpeg, engine cover, and reduced the extent of his leg injuries (he had boots and leg armour). As it was, his engine cover peeled the outer doorskin right off the truck and did not survive the encounter.
Yes they are definitely worth it -
just a few days ago I decided I was in a hurry and forgot to take my disc lock off before starting out. Got 3/4 of a wheel rotation and bam, I am falling over onto the left side. I was kinda able to let it down slowly, but there was no stopping it going over.
Anyways, landed on the extended frame slider (ebay), and did no damage at all to anything but my pride. Swiveled the mirror backwards, but thats what the bend for.
I would really recommend them. They stick out A LOT, to the point where you could almost use them as cruiser pegs, but save your fairings. Of course if your bike hits something not-flat (curb, car, pole) it will still mess it up. They are kinda like leathers for the bike.
When you are installing them, put a dab of grease or something on the bolt and push it outward to the fairings. Take a 2" hole saw and cut (slowly) using the dab of grease as the center. This will produce a very clean cut.
