Question fork seal DRIVER

so i understand how to take the forks apart and get them back together, its been covered and im sure its annoying to see the same posts. but ive searched through the f3 section and no luck finding what im actually looking for.

question is. instead of purchasing an expensive driver set that i will probably use once or twice, i learned about the PVC DIY. I understand its just a piece of pvc, but im looking for more descriptive information for ACTUAL pipe size. like inner diameter,(closest to 41mm) wall thickness, and best length. should it be kept short like the motion pro ones? or longer?

thanks in advance

Ive used PVC and a flat tip screw driver with a mallet. Both worked great. The screw driver took a little more time tho. Baby steps.

If your fork diameter is 41mm you need a piece of PVC roughly 1.5" inside diameter. It's actually 1.6 but 1.5 is as close as you're going to get. I've used PVC on fork seals in the past but not on an F3. It works great. Also used PVC as ring squeezers on my old cbr1000f, works great for that too.

ok, so 1.5 ID. does outer diameter matter? or does all pvc come with the same wall thickness? just wondering cause i know it has to be able to get inside of the lower fork tube...

Try it as is. Then if it won't fit, shave it down some on the bottom.

what i did was just took a peace of PVC that was a little bit bigger than the OD of the fork to the id of the PVC cut less than half out of it so basically it looked like a C, than slipped it over the fork had to squeeze it to fit it in the groove once i got it in i pounded on it with a rubber maillot till it was seated down all the way. it was really no special PVC i used just some scrap PVC from when i ran my water pipe to my house way cheaper than buying a tool and works just as good
