Finished my fancy new paint job

So I finally got my F3 put back together and thought I would share. I used the dupli-color paint shop system Performance Red with the Multi-Colored Prisma-Clear. Overall it was really easy to work with came out well. It's hard to appreciate the color shift in the flake in a picture but you can kind of see it.

great!

nice dude, i like what you did with the red and the sparkles

my bike has a similar kind of paint job except its yellow with blue sparkles. you can really only see the sparkles in the sun tho its not the best color coordination (i bought the bike like it is) but i like it because no one else has it.

thats the best part of a custom paint job

thanks man, I appreciate it. I def wanted to go the different route with my paint and so far it's worked. Everyone that has seen it has complimented it. I has a completely different impact in the sun.

looks sweet man, only one thing.....move that license plate! you think you own a Harley or something? j/k looks good, are those stock plastics or the hong kong ones?

Yeah I used the Duplicolor PS on my F3. I went with the metallic silver tho. Came out good except where I screwed up the prep.

Was wondering how the prismatic looked. I may have to paint my F3 once more before I sell her. If it comes out looking half as good as yours, I may be able to squeeze a few dollars more out of it

yeah it had had way more effect than I was even hoping for when I used it... I mean for a 100$ paint job (I did all the labor including spraying) I can't complain at all. @willduce... sorry man must just be my Harley up-bringing lol and they are the stock plastics

willduce 04-14-2010 08:42 PM

haha its alright, looks good, now you just have to keep it rubber side down and it will stay that nice

Looks great as duce said keep it upright don't hurt the pretty paint!!!!!

Looks good, man.
I've heard some of that bigger flake can be hard to work with. I've never used it, only some smaller pearl type stuff and that wasn't terribly easy, either. lol..
Glad it worked out.... and for $100! Very nice. :)

Looks good man.

+1 on the dupli color. I did the metallic blue and it turned out great. I hit a racoon about 3 days after i finished though and the right side ripped off. haha So keep it nice.

And i dont know If you used the duplicolor clear but mine didnt withstand gas well at all. My tank was trashed from small drips.
