Default fairing

I just took my bike down in the first rain of the season. dont ask, it was right in front of UCR if anyone knows where that is, and was embarrassing. I wasnt hurt and luckily the bike wasnt either except for the fairings.

anyway, i need new fairings. Does anyone make afermarket OEM ABS plastic fairing, or am i only going to be able to get these from the dealer. Also, where should i look for used ones besides ebay?

Also, the owner before me put a different seat (dont know what it is, it is a one person seat) from the stock f3 one and a sharkskinz rear on it. I would like to take it back to stock. Can anyone give me a list of what i will need including bolts, plastics, seat, etc.

thanks in advace for the help.

Default RE: fairing

If you want to go back to stock, you're going to need a complete rearset (both rear side plastcs, tail plastic and tail light assembly). All of this, including the seat can be bought off of eBay right now. There is a memberhere that just listed a complete F3. The plastics are the 97-98 model (front is same, rear is different but will fit - looks better too).

Shoot them a PM, look in the classifieds section of these forums for information. Maybe you can pull a heartstring and get what you need.

Also, as for the fairings, you went down in the rain? Did you lowside it? If it's just some rash, even some pretty deep rash, it can be fixed. Check a thread called, "How do I paint a bike," I put a lot of information on there that will help you for that exact purpose.

Don't worry about looking like a jackass man - it happens.

I was riding the other day, and knew I was getting low on fuel, and as I stopped at a light, the bike started sputtering. As I reached for the reserver switch, she died. When these baby's die like that, it takes a few to get 'em started again. The light had turned green and red again by the time I got it started <----- looking like a fool! Hehe, take it in stride, and I'm glad you're okay.

Now get that bike fixed and get back on it!
