Default Failed Safety.... is this guy a douche?

Hey guys, my f3 failed safety- I put custom LEDs in the gauge, and in doing so I decided to change my high beam to purple and nuteral to a blueish teal.

The shop failed me and said Hibeam MUST be blue, Neutral MUST be green.

This is gonna take me hours to switch!! And he already did the safety work so I gotta pay him anyways!!

WTF, is this guy a ***** or do you guys agree he is right?

Long story short, DONT change LEDs and gauge lights if your gettin a safety........... AHHHHHHHHH

Or just move to a state that doesn't do safty inspections. There's a reason my bikes are still registered in Connecticut lol.

Also as far as the inspection goes, I'd call around to a few other shops and tell them that you want to change the lights and will this be a problem when you come in for an inspection. If you find one that says its no problem then you know where to go for you sticker.

yea shoulda called... these guys got a great reputation and do good work... aparently TOO good.

And since he put in the time, I still gotta pay for the safety. Even if I go to a lesser shop and let them over look it, Im payin twice. Ah, Im screwed.

Are you sure about that 'pay twice' part? Here in PA if your vehicle fails inspection, you have 15 days (I think) to repair. But you don't have to pay for the reinspection. Happened with my gf's car. Failed inspection because the check engine light was on. Friggin sensor was out.

Had the sensor replaced and took it back. Rolled out with a sticker

yea, I would have to pay twice, if I went to another shop to over look this guys work.

The shop im at now, safety is done, and I will get my sticker- only when I change my lights back to stock color. Till then, Im at his mercey. (blah blah blah, its only 60 bucks, but hey- I think its the principal here, were talkin a hibeam light, adn a neutral light, THAT WORK FINE)

plus it will take me about 4 hours to rip that deep into my bike, and come on I got better things to do, but I do love my bike, and it needs an oil change so I was goin into it anyways, i guess... THE PRINCIPAL!!

Canada, Ontario. Thats standard really- its his hourly labour rate and this guy is really good and has a serious passion about motorcycles (him and all his workers) He told me he put 2 hours into it (he actually found some other stuff like brakes etc that I wont argue about those)
