F3 total loss... Options?
Hey guys, my F3 got hit in the parking lot at work. The handlebars got bent slightly and the fairings are toast. The right mirror also broke off. I rode it home without issue. The insurance company declared it a total loss, however they didn't take the bike.
I'm curious what my options are. The insurance company initially offered me the option of taking the money getting a salvage title and getting it fixed or just taking the money. Then they told me that Florida law (where it's registered) requires that it be destroyed. I'm currently located in CA, so I was wondering if I could sell it and someone out here could get a salvage title, or if I have to sell it as a parts bike.
I loved my F3, but I'd like to have it replaced with something newer that's fuel injected. The F3 was great because it consistently got 45-50 mpg and it was really comfortable to ride. I'd like to replace it with something similar. Right now I'm thinking an F4i or a VFR800.

my car was rear ended and i am also from florida. it pretty much came down to, there is no way to legally keep anything deemed total here anymore. my car really didnt look too bad while it was together (because it was an all plastic saturn) so i really wanted to just keep it being as i got 30+ mpg..but unfortunately it had to be destroyed..

Sounds like the insurance company priced brand new OEM fairings. That'd damn near total out a 2010 600rr.
Call the insurance company and haggle, I'd say. Aftermarket fairings will be substantially cheaper. Think a full set of vortex clipons ran me bout $50 for my f3. Talk to the adjuster an offer to accept less than the totaled limit and DIY.
