Default F3 Tips and Tricks??

I thought id throw up a thread asking everyones experiences and tips with their F3s.

I found with mine that changing the cam chain tensioner is a must,
I like using K&N oil filters and Mobil 1 racing full syn oil,
I wouldn't suggest buying fairings from hong kong unless you have no other option.
the "red bull" can mod is a great way to personalize your bike
Sea Foam worked great to add some gas mileage

thats really all I got for now, I'd just like to hear some other insight from the long time CBR owners

for anyone with a tinted helmet, id suggest HID's for evening riding, as they are so bright it makes the road easy to see even with the shield down.

some aftermarket pazzo levers, or even the knockoffs like I have that were 40 bucks shipped, made breaking and on the fly adjustments cake.

A good amount of people like to clear their tail up with a fender eliminator or something similar, I made a custom one myself (not a fan of a 80.00 piece of scrap metal)

Aftermarket windscreen from zero grav.

The f4i gauge swap was one of the best things I ever did to my bike. With a custom mounting bracket.

Reflective/color rim tape was a fun mod I did to my bike that I really enjoyed. Gives your bike a new "flair" look.

Might as well go ahead and mention the 520 chain conversion and -1 down in the front that added some kick to the low end acc.

Rear spools for rear stands was a fun mod, though really not needed, and I'd guess frame sliders and custom bar ends should find there way on here eventually.

Not a well known mod, but worth mentioning: getting a new custom/aftermarket clutch cable made shifting a ton smoother.

I got a custom cut, leather seat cover that I stapled on. My gear I wear is a bit slippery when I grab the throttle, and the leather fixed that issue.

Led integrated taillights are popular.

As far as oil goes, I prefer using Motul 5100, it makes the engine sound so much better, and shifts much cleaner.

HID as another said is a must (regardless if you have a tinted visor)

Removing the big stubby turns makes the bike look better and you can do it for free by cutting everything off and putting the turns up by the seat

Im curious what you did for your seat cause mine is starting to wear but ive never upholstered anything before id be afraid to waste my money on leather just to screw my seat up.

my cutch cable makes an almost griding sound when i let go in neutral which makes me think its about to go but it doesnt sound that loud so im thinking it might be ok? any thoughts on that?

Griding noise? wtf? the clutch cable shouldn't be making any noise... maybe your clutch is, but the griding noise can just be cause the engine is revved too high...

Seat - if you have no expirence reupholstering dont do it, you can **** it up... ebay has some seats for around 40/50, go buy one of those and call it a day

If you a whirring noise when you let the clutch out it's probably the input shaft bearing. Is it really noisy or just a slight difference when you let the clutch out?

tips for mods:
ignition advancer at least +2
jet kit
SS lines
BMC

if you like to take your bike apart a lot like i did/do, replace all the philips heads screws with nice stainless steel allen key ones from ACE or True Value. (on the carbs, airbox, etc.), saves you from a lot of cursing and headaches down the road.
