F3 stock wheel size.
Ok, I have a buddy at work wants to sell me his '95 F3 rear wheel(I have an F2). He is saying that the '95 is a 160 rear rim, but I have the understanding that the F3's are a 170 rear rim. He showed me a website with it being a 160 OEM rim. What is the real answer?
I would like to keep the F2 160 for the street, the '95 F3 170 for the track. That is why I ask.

My 96 has a 160 on it and that was the O.E.M. tire size. People have dabbled with other sizes to the F3 rims, and i know 170's will fit and there has even been discussion of the 180 tire fitting to an F3 rim. 160 is stock, 170 will work, but my or my not be any more useful on the track. good luck

i would advise sticking with stock tires sizes intended for the wheel. running a larger tire then recommended will cause the tire to "bow out" more causing irregularities on the surface of the tire which will drastically reduce available traction and performance on the rear tire.....................
at least that is my theory on the matter..... not sure if i am right or wrong so it would be interesting to hear others thoughts
