The F3 as a sport tourer and commuter?

i had a ninja 250 as my first bike and hated it. after the first week i wanted it gone. after trading it for a f3 two months later... i was so much happier..
Your wrist will be a little tight for about the first week because you have to get used to the riding position, and the weight of the bike and moving it around takes some getting used to (about a week overall) after that you will be much happier and not miss your 250
Yea the ninja 250 got about 60 miles per gallon which is awesome.
but compared to the f3 there is none id rather have my f3 any day over a 250. You will be happy with it is all i can say if you end up buying it.
also the F4i is a great bike but can get a little expensive, and the cheapest one i have seen was for 2500 with about 30,000 miles.

Ergonomics is subjective. The bike that's comfortable for me might not be for you. But I put in days of 400 miles or more without much trouble. After a while my legs would want to be stretched, but that was it. No wrist or back problems.
I routinely got 50 mpg or close to it on my F3, but that's partly because launching from traffic lights isn't my style anyway. I would routinely commute 55 miles each way, no problems. I'd put my work shoes and lunch in my tank bag, and head off to the office.
I think an older CBR or a faired SV would both be fine choices. If it were me, I'd get the bike that's in the best condition for the price, whichever model it is.

Thanks everyone. I have two F3s that I am considering.. Both have very low miles...
One has this paint scheme:
The other has this paint scheme:
The yellow one is owned by a friend of a friend.. it has almost showroom, can be trusted and has been maintained.. it has a clear taillight, rear fender eliminator, D&D slipon and has been jetted.. it has been maintained perfectly and looks and sounds great. The only thing I don't like is that it has a (mint condition) Second Look seat cover that matches the scheme, but I would rather it had a standard stock black one. I will have to change it.
The white one is owned by someone I don't know. It is a bit cheaper than the yellow one and is a very close second in condition. It has a 2bros slipon and its super loud.. I would change it. I am weary because it has sat so long.. it is cheaper up front but I would have to buy new tires because they are just old.
I'll let you know how things go... I'm thinkin I'm going to grab the yellow one.
