Default F3 Fuel System Questions

I just picked up my F3 and noticed there is a fuel smell when the bike sits over night. So going through my bike I found that the small hose coming off the tank was not connected to any where. I also found that the end of the hoses connected to the fuel pump are wet looking. Could the small house no being connected be allowing the tank to drain slowly and put extra pressure on the lines causing my issue? Also I'm gonna put new lines and clamps on. Can I pick up some bulk fuel line or should I buy the oem lines?

There are two lines running from vents at the bottom of the tank. The biggest one is an overflow drain - which comes into play when you put too much fuel in the tank. The smaller one is a vent for the vapor pressure from evaporating gasoline. It's the small one, and it's corresponding pipe in the tank is that stupid tube that blocks you from easily fueling your bike.

The petcock is the only other attachment to the tank.

Is the small one suppose to connect to anything on the other end? Or just hang like the larger one?

It just hangs there.
I'm just spit-balling on this, but it kind of sounds like you have a crack in a fuel line or one of the plastic T's in the carb set. Or it could be one of the O-rings on those T's.
Since the carbs sit directly under the tanks (and air box), you could falsely sense a smell from the tank if they were the issue.
IMHO if it were directly tank or petcock related, you'd be able to see a dramatic fuel spot underneath your bike.

Yeah I have a pretty good idea of where it's coming from so I'm gonna change all the hoses and the clamps because I was able to squeez one with almost no resistance by hand

Ok so yesterday I sat down and replaced the hoses along with clamps and it cut it down significantly. However I'm still getting the smell. I did notice that when I removed the airbox it smelt like fuel in there. Is this normal? I know some fuel sits in the carbs. On the filter above one of the carbs it appeared wet. Possible of something stuck open?
