i made a custom bracket before i did the f4i fairing swap. love the new guages. real easy, except putting that new sensor in for the temp was a pain in the butt. if you have the right tools itll be easy. i believe a 1/4 rachet set with swivel will do it. i only have 3/8s so it was a bit of work.

also the guage is a bit off, but now it doesnt matter anyways since i did the sprocket change. speedohealer is on the way anyways

iirc the year guages is gonna be any f4i

if you dont put the 900rr temp sensor, itll read overheating all the time. 900rr temp sensor put it right on dot

Interesting. Which I've always wondered about putting in an F4i engine(Or even a 600rr) into an F3 then turboing for a supersleeper. And I'd like the gauges to match everything up. This will of course be after I get another bike.

Which to clarify would the F4i Gauges match up well with the F3 upper fairings or do you have to put on the F4i body.

RE: F3 to F4i Gauge Swap

900rr is a direct screw in. people originally put the f4i one, but a few members found the 900rr one works perfect.

so 900rr for sure. dont have to do anything special. if you went with the f4i, youd have to tap your existing hole, or put a inline radiator hose adapter

RE: F3 to F4i Gauge Swap

When I was gathering parts for this swap awhile back I had yoursame problem. Thethermo you need is for a 98-99 900rr. good luck. Its a really easy swap once you have all the pieces.

RE: F3 to F4i Gauge Swap

If its an ez install....then im gonn start this project as soon as i can find a resonable F4i gauge cluster. So thats all you need is the 900RR temp?....everything else just plugs right in then?
