engine removal
 
I am trying to remove the engine in my 1998 f3. first i have to remove the carbs. does anyone have an easy way to do this?

For that kind of work you should get the shop manual. Go to Stephy G's page. She has several manuals there.

you need to get the tank and airbox off first...
after that though,
you have to remove all the lines (coollant, air, fuel), then you need to unscrew the boots, and they should come off... make sure to take the choke cable out and then remove throttle cables. also remember there is some wiring that you need to disconnect on the outside of the frame. just my .02, but if you're having trouble with the carbs, i wouldnt try to remove the engine by yourself. pick up the manual and get some help from someone that is a little more expirienced mechanically.
