Default Electrical Issues

Ok I am very new to street bikes, and this will be my first thread on the forum. About two months ago I bought a 96CBR 600 F3, and it has been running great. I was riding my bike all day and it was running smoothly. Except for two times it would click once rather then start. I stopped pushing the start button and pushed it again and it would start. So I didn’t think anything of it. Until tonight when I went to go get on the bike and go for a ride it went click then… the headlight turned off. Now when I turn the key the headlight doesn’t even turn on. So my first thought was the battery is dead, but I was riding all day it should be charged. I put it on a charger/ starter and it starts, but when I take it off it the starter and try to start it, it does it again. Anyone have any ideas? Or can point me in the right direction?

Get a new battery mate and take it from there.
If it happens again with the new battery then start looking into other stuff.
The clicking noise was starter relay i'd say and with battery drained it would just click and not turn the engine over.
