Default Did Oil change, now ticking sound

So I've been checking the web for why this ticking sound is happening. I just got this bike and don't got my own place to work on it, I can't check the valves. But I can tell you what it was doing before/after oil change

There was no ticking sound coming from the right side of the motor as if you were sitting on it.

Did a Oil change from: GN4 w/ K&N Filter 2.5"

Now I put Shell Rotella T 15W40 w/ Bosch 3323, obviously a bigger filter. Put the whole 1 gallon in there, checked the levels are they were good. At first when I started it, oil light came on, I had to rev the to 2k and it would go away, let it idle and it came back on. Held it at 2k RPM for about 30 seconds and let it idle. the oil light was gone. But then I gained a ticking sound. Not loud like a CCT failing, but sounds like when water is just about to start boiling at the bottom of the pot.

Is it cause I put a bigger filter on there, causing odd oil usage for the pump or what? The bike shifts better, I still have all the horsepower from going WOT I can tell I do. Bike still fires up great, still getting great MPG. Not sure what to do

98 CBR600F3. Oil change was at 35311 odometer

I think my motor would be doing worse things. It's been a few days right now and it hasn't gone away yet

STOP IMMEDIATELY!

Do not run the engine any further. The oil light isn't a suggestion. It's a serious warning. Of what, unknown as of yet. But last time someone reported that, I said the same but it was too late. Major engine damage.

The oil viscosity is wrong. 10w40 is recommended. I've used Shell Rotella T6 5w40 without problem. But I don't know about the 15w40. It also sounds like you overfilled the oil. None of our bikes take 4 full quarts of oil.

When you checked the oil dipstick, was the bike leaning on it's sidestand at the time? Bike has to be level for a correct reading

When I checked the oil level, I went by the manual of checking the oil level. And when I did the dip stick check, it was right under the max level line. Would it matter than much of throwing a bigger filter on it taking a little bit more oil? And my manual says 3.9 US Quarts at oil filter change

Default Cam Chain?

Not that i am and expert but i have had that same tick before, and it just happened that i needed to tighten the tensioner for my cam chain, could just be a coincidence you changed the oil at the same time.

Ya that's what I'm thinking. I've been searching the web late last night and this whole morning. Changing oil see most cause valve train ticking ranging to almost every model car/trucks. Its still running strong so I don't think its a major issue right now.

Default Try it

I would just pop off the fairing and try to tighten it and see if it reduces the ticking sound, easiest way to figure it out.

Did you rev it to 2k before the system had a chance to build pressure? You are supposed to let it idle for a few minutes to build pressure before revving it.
