Default Confession: 1st time

Ok so I have a confession. A few of you know me, and I have been on this forum a year, since I first got my 95 F3 a year ago. And well, just a few minutes ago, I rode my bike for the first time.

WOW. Better than teh seckz. My first bike was a 89 kawi ex500. This is my second. What a world of difference. I only got it up to about 5k cause i drove it around my neighborhood (and its super loud lol) but damnnnn why havent I got off my *** and fixed this thing sooner??

A lil history: Bought it a year ago, wouldnt run to save its life. It would have helped if the spark plug wires were in the correct firing order; fixed that. Also, would have helped if there wasnt rocks, sticks, and dirt in the gas tank; f*&#ing kids. Another thing that would have helped if it had the correct carbs on it. The PO put F2 carbs on it, which are smaller, and have smaller jets, with no throttle posistion sensor. Bought a pair of F3 carbs on ebay, what a disaster. The vacuum nipples were broken, jets missing, etc. Trashed them. Bought a second set on ebay, the seller "lost" my winning auction carbs in his warehouse, and sent me another set he found. HORRIBLE. Looked like they were pulled out of the bottom of a lake. Sooooo much white calcium build up, dirt, grime, rust... The jets were frozen in their place, I broke 2 trying to get them off. Trashed them. Bought my THIRD set of carbs from someone on here, and they were in pristine condition. Cleaned the jets for a "just in case" and threw them on and BLAM! she ran fine (after getting the vacuum lines in the correct order).

The front tire holds air for about 1 day, and the rear is a 190 and BALD. So i only rode it around the neighborhood for about 5 minutes but damnnnnnnnn. Sorry for the long post but im hyped! After that 5 minutes she started hesitating like it was out of gas but Im not concerned about that, prob just some loose vacuum lines or pinched fuel line (lord knows, cause i've had them off about 10 times.)

BUT... without everyone here on this forum, giving me advice, and for posting how to: threads, and answering questions i had....... I would have sold it by now. But now shes runs! So THANKS GUYS!

When I finally fixed my carb issue I made the mistake once of treating her like she still had a flat spot. Hit wot expecting it to bog out and got a surprise when she decided to power up, skipping the front tire down the street.

After I parked and took about 10 min to unclench all my muscles, the same grin crept on my face. Really scared my coworkers. They rarely see me smile and never first thing in the morning. Feels really good when you fix a tough problem yourself and experience the results

You're just jealous that I'm as good at getting them OUT of shape as into.
