Default Rims that fit 97 F3

Well my front rim had the lip rolled on both sides so I took it to the local shop to straighten it & they said it cracked now. Been searching around & it's hard to find a front rim for my year or their always bent. I've came across a lot for 91-94 from F2's & was wondering if anyone knows if they would work on my F3 w.o having to make any changes?

Nope, the rotor mounts are different, which means the calipers are different, which means the fork legs are different. From a bolt-on perspective anyway. The spacing may not be so far off you couldn't make spacers to get things to line up in different combinations.

F2 forks are pretty cheap, but because they have inferior internals. I know the upper tubes are interchangeable, maybe you could use all F3 guts with F2 lowers.

I'll have a set of F2 legs available shortly.

Cheers

Hell of a lot less headache to just buck up and pay through the nose for a good wheel.

Between the F2 guys putting F3 front ends on and the 900 guys converting, they are in demand I guess.

I have a front rim off of a 1998 F3 that the lip is slightly bent. I was told by a dealer it can be straightened. PM me if you are interested. F3 rims are hard to find. I did a F4i front end swap on my F3.

Pictures are here

Yes I've been searching last 4days for a good rim lol. Their usually bent at the lip which I suppose if the tires will seal & hold air then I guess it's not too bad. As for getting rims straightened, I tried it here at a local shop & they cracked it which is why I'm in the hunt for one. I found a place online that 100% guarantees they won't crack a rim by the process which they use but their service was a bit more I think around $140.00.

Other good news, I heard it may be possible for a 94-97 VFR 750 rim to interchange with the F3's, I checked online & both sizes were exact & both the 6 spoke rim. Can anyone here verify this?

There's one. Not a horrible price, but not great either.

I appriciate the feedback, I checked the rim you gave me a link to but decided to take a chance on a rim from a 94-97 VFR. Looks to be in great shape with no scratches or bends. The seller checked & said the rim from a 94-97 VFR was a 100% fit for a 95-98 F3 so once I get it I'll post back & let you guys know for sure.

Well I got my rim today & it's a 100% fit. Noting else is need, my rotors, axle, spacers, & calipors all work with it. Had it put in place & bolted up but removed it cause I'm going to polish the edges of my rims & put on new tires. So hopefully this info will help anyone else hunting down a front rim for their F3. It came from a 94-97 Honda VFR, same 6 spoke design, 3.5 inch wide, 17 inch round. I found mine on ebay in great shape no bends & paint was not faded or scratched for 289 + 30 for shipping. Good luck to anyone else that is in the hunt!
