Default clutch cover replacement?

all right y'all....this may be a stupid question, but any helpful hints on changing out a clutch cover? I bought a polished one and want to replace the stock one. I know I'll need a new gasket, and should I expect fluid when I loosen the cover? or more parts?

just do it when you need an oil change, and drain the oil, then remove the cover.. the hardest part is getting the old gasket off. Also note where there is sealant where the case halves meet.. I think there's only 2 spots.. maybe 3. Whereever you see a seam, where the cases are bolted together, use a small amount of RTV black sealant across to seal the seams.

is there a gasket on that side? or is it only rtv sealant? I was told that on the f4 on that side there's no gasket, and I was wondering if the f3 is the same.

You're right.. the F4 doesnt have a gasket, but the F3 does.. They changed the motor alot for the F4, because the swingarm mounts to the back of the engine, so most of the F4 engine is different, externally.

awesome. Thanks hun. I ordered my gasket yesterday, and it'll be in on Weds. Whichis fine since the bike had to go back to the dealership today anyways. It keeps fouling plugs, and Ihaven't even ridden it yet, so I called 'em up and they're having me bring it in and they're fixing it at no charge. Sweet.
