Cool Chain and sprocket(s)

I need top replace my chain because it was rusted pretty when I got the bike. Can anyone tell me what I need to get. I have no clue if I have to replace both sprockets and get a new chain or what? I was bombarded with all kinds of questions at the ,otorcycle store on whether or not I wanted this many teeth or that many teeth. Like I said I have no clue and just want something decent for me to ride back and forth to work.

If you want to know what your stock gearing is go to the Gearing Commander website and load your bike's stock setup from the drop-down menu. Then you can experiment with different gearing and see what it will do to your rpm at certain speed, how a different setup will affect your top speed, etc.

With the rusted chain that you mentioned you'll probably need both sprockets, as well as a new chain. If one or the other is worn pretty well you'll wear out the others fast if you don't replace them all.

Not trying to sound like a douche but please search before you post. 95-96 used 530 chain set up with 15/43 tooth. 97-98 used 525 setup with 15/43 as well. Both are interchangeable. Lots of guys run -1/+2 which is 14/45. I've seen a couple members run just 15/46

Smile chain and sprocket

thanks guys, I will check out the website, It rides really good now minus the sound of the chain sometimes, so I really just wanted a good replacement that wont kill the pocket.

Here's who I went with.. Yes they are a little more expensive but I would put money down that these combinations would last 3 folds longer than the rest. I've used them before!! I also went with just -1 down in the front..
