CBR F3 trunk kit (pics work now)
 

I bought this off eBay, not sure of the brand but it opens up underneath the seat versus having to pop up the seat. Much more convenient & has adequate space. I'd never seen this set up before but like how it installed & like how it works.

I agree, plus I've heard a bunch of stories of the seloniods failing. That's why I like the one I installed, it's a mechanical latch w/ a keyed lock, and the latch is super tough, no chance of it just popping open...plus I'm doing a solo tail so the other kind wouldn't work anyway.

how does your undertail trunk mount? I saw one simialr on Ebay for about 420, but I'm worried it won't fit properly. I defintiely need some kind of trunk though. can you somehow post larger pics? i tried clicking on your pics and enlarging them, but for some reason they stay the same size. How much was your trunk kit and is it specifed for pre-97 F3 tails?? thanks!

i put it on today and if the battery dies u can just take off the side fairings and push the solenoid in with a screwdriver or something and lift the seat out. its rly no more of a hassle if not easier if your battery dies because you dont need a wrench to undo the bolts

I only paid $20 or so on eBay for my kit. Not sure of the brand but it replaces the plastic in the tail (factory license plate holder, under seat, etc.). I had to remove the rear fairings & seat, cut out the stock plastic & the trunk mounts underneath the rear subframe via factory bolts. It's pretty cool & I'd never seen it before. However, there was another one on eBay last week for '97-98 F3's that was brand new. I don't recall the brand name but did at the time try to find more info with no luck.

This is with the trunk open...my cargo net is in the trunk...picture is pretty dark though, need to get some brighter ones...
