CBR F3 Not Running Properly-
Hey Guys-
I need some help, I know that this mentioned several times throughout the forum but I need help. I have 96 CBR 600 F3 and it has sat a while, I finally got it running Sunday and today it only starts if choked and will not run once I move the choke. Also, as soon as I try to throttle the bike it will shut off. On Sunday I changed the battery, cleaned out the fuel tank and added a fuel cleaner and new fuel, and it eventually started and ran great. I am thinking that it is a fuel issue, I have checked plugs and firing good. Would you check the carb bowls and fuel filter next? Also, the fuel pump will prime everytime I turn the key on, isnt that normal? Please Help before I go crazy! Thanks |
If it sat up for a few years - go ahead and save yourself some trouble - pull the carbs and go through them and give everything a thorough cleaning.
To answer the follow up question once you try taking your carbs off - they are only held on by the rubber boots, yes they're a pain in the ass to get off, no you won't break them, but you're not pulling hard enough. Unless they fall right off - then you have a carb boot problem, they are too loose and might be why the bike is running like crap - replace all 4. |
Thanks- I have been trying to avoid the carb cleaning. Thanks for the help I will start cleaning.
