Default CBR 600 f3 "98" spluttering on wide open throttle

I need help.... i have a CBR600f 1998, The bike rides fine when bringing the throttle in slowly& will rev right through to the limit. But when i am doing around 30mph in 3rd & go to wide open throttle the engine splutters as if it is starved of fuel or air. This only happens on wide open throttle!
Any answers guys?

Change air filter. Sounds like its running too rich. If that doesnt solve then you might have to change the main jets in the carbs to smaller once.
Also, when did it start happening and when did you change spark plugs last and cleaned the carbs... recent service history?

Thanks for your replies, It has always done this since i have had the bike. the last guy who had it was a bit of a numpty on it & came off twice..
Anyway, i have balanced the carbs & checked the jets for clogging. I have checked the resistance of the ht leads & coils, checked the CDI & voltage to the throttle position sensor.
the guy who had it before me did say he had the problem too.

Bypass the fuel pump or relay. Check the fuel filter. Its the easiest steps. If it does not make any difference you ll have to digg further.
