Default Cant start bike

My bike was running fine and I took it apart to clean the carbs and put in the 900rr thermo sender. Now that Ive put it all back together I can hardly even get it to cough. Checked the battery charge, fine. Pulled one plug real quick before work and it had some black crap on it, oil/gas? but did still throw a spark.

After hitting the starter for now more than 2 seconds on about the 4th atempt it will seem to slow as if the battery is dying, I checked it again and still got about 11.70volts...

Tried spraying some engine starter into the stacks and that didnt seem to do much.

I have a small funnel full of gas hooked up to the main fuel line where the tank connects and no fuel pump.

Is there any chance its just not getting any gas?

Any ideas? Im going to pick up all new plugs tomorrow.

Have you tried bump starting it?

If you can, then it will narrow down the issue.

Put new plugs in, now the bike sounds like its kicking a little better when it turns over but still no luck. Also now when I spray starter in the stacks it will back fire ALOT, every few seconds. I have fuel in the bowls, so I have spark, fuel (presume), Compression is fine. What am I missing?

I dont have a fuel pump on my bike, this shouldnt matter right? Gravity will get fuel moving right?

Sooo yea. Im gonna take the carbs and airbox off again tonight and see if i notice anything.

The fuel pump doesn't turn on until 5-6K. A battery can have the correct voltage but no power behind it. Turning over a cold block in winter takes more power than a cold block in the summer. A trick truckers use is to have heaters blowing on the motor.

I would check your carb float blows for fuel. If you have one that doesn't drain some gas. Either its not getting fuel or just dumping it into the engine. Do your plugs look wet?

Well when Ive tried cranking it ive had it hooked up to a battery tender/jumper. I changed my plugs and aside from black soot and some oil on them. Should I take the brand new plugs out and see if anything has changed?

Would it just be dumping into the engine even though Im definetly getting a spark? Thanks

The spark burn the fuel vapor not liquid fuel. Are the carbs running aftermarket jets?

Do have the plug wire routed to the right plugs? Back firing is ignition during the exhaust stroke.
