Question can you help!!

Hi to Everyone

recentley brought a 1995 CBR600 of a friend after he had laid it up for a couple of years. it had been dropped so he stopped using it. he asures me that it was running perfect before he put it in his garage, So....

I'm not a trianed mechanic but I try.......

basically,

I changed to old fuel to new,
I sprayed carb cleaner down the carbs,
I fitted a new Battery,
I changed the oil addind a new filter.

and it runs!!! with lots of power and quick throttle response.

BUT... the top end is noisy, after reading up about other peoples
problems i have brought and I'm just going to fit a new Cam Chain Tensioner along with new Spark plugs. I will update you on this.

also... It wont or dont like starting when warm???

any Idea's would be appreciated Thanks

UPDATE.....

My CBR was sat up for 5 years (according to the tax disc) after it had been dropped, I changed the battery, fuel, plugs, oil filter, oil and cam chain tensioner and its passed the MOT, with an advisory on the rear tyre.

Double check the regulator/rectifier, just to be sure.
A quick search will give you all of the details.
Honda has enough 'history' with them, it's a good idea to check.

Sounds like you're doing fine for a 'shade-tree' wrencher.
Ride safe, Ern
