Bypassing Fan and thermostat?
 

How do I bypass the fan and thermostat on a 97 F3 so that it's always cycling and the fan is always on?
It's in a quad and it doesn't get the same amount of wind to cool it as a bike does, so I want to be safe.

i wouldnt bypass the thermostat. if it constantly cycles the water, it has no chance to sit in the radiator and be cooled by the fan. it is constantly getting hotter and hotter and will lead to a snowball effect of basically running away by overheating. (but that is only during summer, in the heat). How ever, you can bypass the fan and be fine. The fan is on the back side of the radiator right? Hell, if it was me, I'd have 2 on there (if you could fit it) to blow air on the motor constantly.

To bypass the fan on the radiator so it's on all the time you need to bypass the Thermo-Switch. The Thermo-Switch is located on the mid up upper left of the Radiator. There is a single wire on the Thermo-Switch that if you short it directly to frame ground, the fan will run all the time it has power. You can see the Thermo-Switch located right above the radiator mounting bracket.

Thanks, well I tried that and the fan still wouldn't kick on and then I tried giving the fan power directly from the battery and that didn't work. I guess it's burned out.

How hard do the radiator lines get, cause I feel the radiator and lines getting hot but it doesn't seem to be cycling (and my temp gauge is busted).

Hmmm... No temp gauge means all you can really do is check the thermostat to be sure it's operating properly. Should be a diagnostic routine in the manual. You can download the manual with this link if you need it

Essentially the method of testing a thermostat is to remove it, boil it in water with a thermometer and see if it opens at the proper temp. If it is operational and still doesn't seem like coolant is circulating, you prolly need to flush and bleed the radiator.
