I did that mod when I was having R/R problems about a year ago and before I hooked up a permanent plug to use with my battery tender. I was having to get under the seat to hook it up to the charger all the time and it came in very handy. Once I used the more permanent plug off the battery for the charger and replaced my R/R I hardly ever took my seat off and undid the mod. It was very handy, but I don't really see the benefit of it if you don't need access to your tools or battery much.

Well that picture pretty much shows everything you'll need... and I did exactly what that guy did.
L- brackets x2
Metal Rods x2
Springs x2
Some kind of clamp to act as a stopper against the stock bolt holes on the subframe x2
I think that's about it.
I had to cut my tray a bit to make some room to mount the brackets... but the rest is pretty self-evident.
