Bike wont start
Ok well i just purchased a CBR f3 1996. I have had it for about 3 weeks.
THE PROBLEM The battery that came with the bike was pretty low, so i got it charged. The bike was riding fine until 2 days ago. The lights would come on but the bike would not start. So i figured it was the battery. I attempted to jump the bike but in the process of doing so the cables started to spark. As soon as i put the cables onto the good battery to jump my bike, the bikes power completely cut off, ie no lights, no dash lights, and definitly no start. I again figured the battery was completely dead so today i bought a brand new one, i put it in and now the bike's dash nor lights will turn on, and a start is out of the question. I thought it was a fuse so i checked them all and they were all good. Any idea of what the problem could be? |

You've most likely blown the 30A fuse. It's by the battery mounted onto the Starter Relay. Taking the tank off makes it easier to get to.

did you jump the bike with a car?
was the car running? |

kinda dumb question did u put the cables on right. sparks when u put them on?

it sounds like you blew the main fuse...see post above...there are additional fuses under a panel secured by one phillips screw on the right side of the upper fairing next to the guages.
If you jumped it with the car running, you very well have cooked something. NEVER do that. A car that is turned off is fine, not running. Also, if you reversed polarity on the cables? you would've fried the main fuse...aka, put positive cable on negative and vice versa...got to be careful |
