Bike WIll not Start!!
Changed plugs and still will not start. Starter is turning and after about 20 seconds of trying to start a get a loud boom and a spark/flame from the exhaust.
Anyone want to tell me where to start???
I just bought this bike and when I got it, it didn't have any brake pads on it. I put pads on it and when I push the brakes front or back nothing happens, no brakes, nothing. It's like the calipers aren't squeezing.
I know one of the front ones was seized because I couldn't even reposition/compress it to put the new pads on.
But I wouldn't think that all three are bad??
any ideas?
Thanks

mine was having the starting issue that yours is and it was b/c my carbs were out of sync, so i took it in and they re-jetted it and re-synced them and now it runs like a champ... as for your breaks i don't have a clue there bro... sorry....

OK I will try getting them re syncronized. Does anyone have any idea of how much this costs??
So if this is the problem would it cause the bike to not start AT ALL???
As far as the brakes I checked and added fluid, still nothing.

Can someone explain to me which wire goes where.
Before I changed the plugs I looked at my manual and looked at which plug wire was going to which plug and it didn't match the one diagram in the book. So I had to undo two plug wires from the coil and switch them.
I could have been wrong and they could have already been in the correct place. But I did that and THEN changed the plugs and still nothing. So I don't know if I should try switching it back to the way it was and try now that I have changed to plugs or if I am right and it is the carbs.
Someone just explain to me in more detail on where the plug wire comes off of which coil and what hole it goes into.
Thanks

The number 1 and 4 plug wires are connected to one coil and 2 and 3 are connected to the other. The order in the coil doesn't matter. On my 1000, the 1 and 4 wires go into the coil with the yellow/blue stripe wire, and 2 and 3 wires go into the coil with the blue/yellow stripe wire.
Edit: Left and right are always done while sitting on the bike, so left to right the cylinders are 1,2,3,4.
