RE: Bike turning but wont fire, had a few quick fires then just turns
if it's not the plugs, look into the stator or the voltage regulator/rectifier
The regulator is very easy to look at, it sits under the right side of your seat, looks like a little inch by inch and a half box with a plug on its right side and two bolt slots, one on top, one on bottom. Mine fried on me while I was riding. sounded kinda like your delema, I got it started about 2 times after it fried (I hadn't diagnosed what went wrong in the 5 minutes after i pulled to the side and turned it off) but stalled cuz of throttle problems, then it turned a few times, any tries at starts after that just sounded like some kind of electrical clicking.
As for the stator, you can either check that yourself with some tool (whose name I forget) or take it to a local dealer (pray it's not the stator, they run $350ish). I don't have much experience yet, I just recently purchased mine, so I won't be able to give much info about the stator.
btw, if it's the regulator, I found one on ebay for $73 from pacific powersports, been running the bike, even hard, for about 200 miles on it and so far no problems, so I vote reliable
