Default Bike sputters/bogs under hard accel.

So my bike starts bogging and sputtering under hard accelearation after I ride for a bit. Any thoughts as to what might be causing this? 1998 CBR F3. Thanks.

First off, check to make sure fuel pump is working, then check and see if any vent tubes are mashed/blocked, then start thinking of tearing into the carbs for a re-build

Definately check your air intake box and vent tubes for trash, dirtdobber, etc. before tearing into the carbs. They will be very expensive to overhaul.

What kind of gas are you running? I know it sounds simple but using a low octane can really cramp the drivability of our bikes.

rebuild the carbs? Whoa, overkill! First how about more info?

What RPMs? What gear? What speed? Is it universal through all gears (bogs in 1st - 6th)? Is it bogging (stutters while going through an RPM range)? Or is it a flat spot (can't get past a certain RPM except on rare occasions) Did it just start? What changed about your bike since it started?

I spent $125 on a new jet kit trying to fix a bad flat spot. In the end, I could have fixed it spending $0. Even cleaning the carbs twice didn't make a dent.

Did you ever find out what the problem was? My bike started doing something similar to this on Friday on my way home from work. I gunned it in second and the bike just bogged down. It wasn't doing this on the morning ride in and it wouldn't do it in 1st gear either. I only got the bike into third on my way home with traffic but it was doing it in both 2nd and 3rd gears.

my bike was running like crap, bogging down, and wouldn't like anything over 5000rpm, sputtered, bucked, ran like crap. so i cleaned the carbs, its a free fix if you can do it yourself, and now it runs great. you may need the re synced though, i haven't synced mine yet, doing it tomorrow. but as long as you don't adjust anything, just take off the covers on the bottom, clean the floats, and all the stuff in there, you'll probably be alright. but someone on here might be able to guide you better than i can, but it sounds like dirty carbs to me, just my guess
