I am a little surprised that it needed a shim job. I've got over 50K on mine and Ive never had to adjust them. Two on mine are only .001 out of spec so I just figured it just isnt worth my time right now.

marc0011 your right, even Honda was supprised that it needed a valve job at only 11,000. They said that the motor does have the correct miles as specified in the Ebay auction (had her in for safety and they were able to check the miles, not sure how this is done). But, it does seem to be running really smooth and with no hesitation. Passed the safety with fling colours, just in time for me to store her...LOL

Idk about that, I asked the techs at my shop if there is any way to tell mileage outside of the odometer and they said nope

I knew there was something funny about Honda stating that they could tell that the motor had the specified miles as stated in the auction without the original odometer. I have to see how did they do that. I know when I worked in the garage as a mechanics helper on cars, these could not be done but, was not sure if it could be done on a bike
