Axle nut size
Hello,
Does anyone know the size of the axle nut on these F3's? My chain is really loose so it needs to be tightened. Unfortunatley when I purchased the bike it didn't come with a toolkit and the dealer wants $120 for one. I think I'll just purchase the right sized socket instead
Thanks
Brad

RE: Axle nut size
The F3s may be different, but I thought it was 22 and 24mm on my F2.
If you want the toolkit, check eBay as they go for pretty cheap. If you have a Harbor Freight in the area, check out their metric 1/2" impact socket set. It's 14 pieces and on sale now for something like $15 or $20. I bought one of these to use when replacing my sprockets, wheels and brakes and it had all the sizes I needed. (1/2" wrench or impact un needed and torque wrench strongly suggested)

Uhh, just a big cresent wrench, works fine for me...once when i reinstalled the wheel i had to use a medium cresent on the other side...lots easier then a socket and a 12mm along with a 14mm wrench will adjust the sliders, make sure you tighten them against themselves, sucks when you dont [&:]

Thanks for the replies. I ended up using a cresent wrench. One thing I noticed though is that when I tightened my change, the "indicators" on the swingarm didn't move. I probably gaveit atleast 2 full rotations. I know on my old bike, just the slightest adjustment and the indicator would move.

When i adjust my chain i tug on the wheel to insure its all the way back and seated right, the best thing ive found its to pull on the lower spoke till the wheel turns a little the right side adjuster kind of has a mind of its own just make sure you tighten those nuts against eachother, i got lucky when i forgot mine and just broke the adjuster, and diddnt go down that would have been ugly
