Any of you purchased fairings via this seller?
I'm thinking about buy http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Fairi...Q5fAccessories
his reviews seem pretty good but the price seem to good to be true. I was curious if any of you had purchased from him. He has ALOT up. |
I do a lot of bidding/buying on ebay and I would buy from that guy.. But idk if you noticed but he is charging you the same amount for shipping thats where they get you so to speak.. Because it doesn't cost over two hundred dollars to send you light weight plastic. So figure around five hundred dollars.

oh jeez i didnt notice the shipping costs. Is there a tried and true fairing seller?

Fairings are wicked expensive. If you can look on ebay for used fairings and fix them yourself. You can get alot of paint shops locally to get you a decent one color paint job for a good price. Or you can find a auto school and donate them to get painted and repaired. A friend did that and he went about 3 weeks without fairings but he had a wicked orange paint job for about 75 bucks if i remember right.

as far as tried and true. i can't say that there is that I know of..but whoever you buy from make sure they have a high feedback rank and high positive feedback is what I do.. I have bought a lot of their and have had not one single problem besides my leather jacket being to small but that was my fault.

The one thing I find concerning is that the pic showing all of them shows a 97-98 tail, and the picture showing the tail separate shows a 95-96 tail, so I would want to make sure it is a 96 tail if that is what you are looking for. The 97 tail will not work on a 96 bike properly.

I agree with dyracuse but they use that picture as a display for reference as the auction says but it never hurts to ask as many questions as you want.

i bought some from a similar buyer... took about a solid month to get here.
asking questions was awful, i got answers like "that is not appropriate" when i asked about color preference. they are abs, brittle, bend and break very very easily, and are a pain to mount up perfectly. they bend with exhaust and engine heat, regardless of heatshielding. they bend in hot sun. they scratch more than my rabid cat. they are backed by horrible customer service and if you are an expert at putting plastics on, this is still gona take 20minutes to get on in a timed race. that being said, they are decent. |
