Default air filter

I am fixing up my bike so i can sell it at the end of this season. I was thinkin of buyin a k&n but its to expensive. Its like 58 bucks and i"m only keeping the bike for like another 4 months. Does anyone know how to clean the filter properly or have a special way of cleaning it so its like new. I also wanted to know when should the carbs of a bike be cleaned out. because my bike has 15,000 miles but the guy before me didnt take care of it so should i do the carbs or let the next person do it. ANd if i should do it by myself how do i unmount the carb from the bike? i saw the tutoriol for it on here but it didnt show how to unmount it from a cbr 600 f3 frame..

Are you having studdering problems, idleing problems, or any other problems that may have to do with the carbs?? If not just run some seafoam in the gas and call it a day. If you can get away with taking an air compressor to the air filter, you should do that..the cheaper the better. To unmount the carbs you just, take the gas tank off, take the black air box plastics off, take the left side panel and access panel off, you might be able to get it from just the access panel. Take a really long *** flat head screw driver and unscrew the rubber connectors that connect the carbs to the head, pull it off, pull off the throttle cables, choke cable, antifreeze cables, and any vacuum lines. remember where these go. You should be free now. Pull it out and follow those instructions. I added a how to clean the idle jet on the end of the first page of that write up, do that and the main jet in each carb along with the rest of the cleaning.
