Default 95 CBR F3

Hi, I'm thinking about purchasing a 95 CBR F3 for about 3 grand (20k miles) and I've come to the honda forums to get an idea of what you guys think about it. What should i expect from this bike? What kind of maintenance is involed? Just stuff like that in general. I'd appreciate it!

I have had mine for about 3 months and the only problems I have had were because of extremely watered down gas. As long as it hasnt been beat on hard you should be ok.

A lot depends on where you are and what the market is like there. As for me, I think that $3K is a little steep for a 95. A 97 or 98 I think is more like that price. It's the end of the season here in the states. There should be some pretty good deals out there. Here's an example. You could buy this bike on ebay, auction number 280280207114 for $2500. Then buy a new tank (the one on this bike has scratches in it) for $450 and you'd have an almost perfect 97. Then sell the old tank for maybe a hundred or so and be slightly ahead of the game.

Just my $.02 worth.

Heck, you could be there in under 4 hours.

hey I would also have to agree with idodirt. $3K is a-bit too steep. I paid $2500 for my 96 F3 (17k miles)and that was during the height of bike season when prices are more at their peaks then during the off seasons/winter seasons. Also just my .02 cents on the price.

But never-the-less F3s are great bikes to have beginners to intermediate riders. Next season 2009 I'm planning on selling my F3 for something with mad more power and torque. And yes I'm forever staying in the CBR family! [8D]

Ya, my plan was to start out on a 600 because in a year or so i would like to get the new Ducati 1098. Now i know those things are monsters but I used to race cars so i know what its like with sensitive throttle positioning and to respect power. Mostly just looking for a starter bike to get used to the motions ya know?

I just bought a nice 97 CBR600F3Smokin joes with 14,000 miles from my local Honda Dealer, for get this, 2,700 out the door. They were asking 3,299 plus prep fee, doc. fee, tax, tag & title. I went in with 2,700 cash in hand & after over an hour of negotiating, walked out with the bike. WOW. I never got anything for that decent of a deal from any dealer.
