Default 900rr motor into F3

I'm sure there has already been a post on this but I just can't find it so if anyone could link it that would be cool.

I'm starting to become interested in doing this swap because I can't afford a newer bigger bike and I like my F3 too much to give it up for an older 900 or bigger.

I'd stick with the 600 but for my size it really is too slow, considering all I really do is drag racing and commuting.

Yea i guess what I should have asked is if it is worth it. I think I read somewhere that the 900 makes something like 126 hp. Thats alot more then what my F3 is probably making now but if it really is too much work and costs too much money I might as well just sell my F3 and get something bigger.

What I really want to know is if this swap is something one should do because they want a faster bike or if it is so much work that only an F3 fanatic should bother doing it.

yeah man, it's gonna be a ton of work. I am just swapping engines in my F3 right now and it's enough work when they're the same engine. if you want a faster/bigger bike, sell your F3 and buy a 900 or 1000cc bike. People who do those projects usually do it for fun and a challenge. you'll be much happier with a 900 or 1000 that is in a chassis made for it. If you want to do it because of your friends spare 900 engine, find a cheap 900 with a blown engine or something. I am willing to bet the F3 swap will cost more time and money than it's worth. It'd probably hurt the resale value too. But if you're into those kinda projects go for it!

yeah i probably wont do it, the thought did cross my mind, i dont like hacking into the frame , is it really that hard to pull and put the F3 motor back in? seems like its only held in there by a couple bolts
