Im looking at buying a 1997 honda cbr 600. Are there any things that generally go wrong with these bikes? Anything I should be looking for specifically? Any info is appreciated. Thanks in advance

 

The regulator/rectifier is a known problem spot - you can search the forum and see a bunch of threads about this. Otherwise it's a solid bike with basic maintenance - oil, coolant, brake fluid, chain clean and lube, etc.

 

Glad you are goin` for a 1997 model, as the 97-98 f3`s were the last and the BEST!

 

The stock automatic CCT (cam chain tensioner) will also go bad. The aftermarket manual one works wonders and very, very, very, east to install.
