1997 cbr 600 F3 killing batteries help
So Djkain's cbr has so far killed 2 batteries. We still can't figure out the problem. Towed it home Wednesday and put a fully charged battery in it that night. He woke up and drove it down the road to the gas station and poof the battery was dead again. So far we have switched out the R/R and the battery, redone the clutch, put in an Hid light, all the fuses are good even the starter fuse. At last look the Stator/alt was not burnt. Anyone have any other suggestions? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First, check if the R/R is working with a voltmeter.
I'm not completely sure but I think it is supposed to put out ~14v at 5000rpm. Check it at the battery.
Then check if you've got a short. Use the multimeter to measure amps in-line between the battery negative terminal and the frame. (with the bike off)

I knew my r/r was fried when I looked at the connection and saw it was melting.

Ok I have unplugged the HID kit it helped me get the bike started. One thing I noticed sometimes I hear a quick buzz and the dash lights go dead and the bike it totally gone but the batt is still showing a charge. I got the bike started and unplugged the + wire while the bike was running. It kept running except it was really choppy the dash lights blinked and the bike sounded like it was about to die but it kept going. Also I noticed that even with the bike idleing around 1.5 to 2k the Volt meter was reading 14v and when i took it to 5k+ it went to 14.5v to 14.6v,

similar issue happened to me tonight..
I was doing my midnight ride through the back roads. and somehow i got lost.. my bike acted like it wanted to die and the headlights went completely dead. i made it about a half mile from my house before it completely died on me.. i smelt a sulfur-ish smell coming from my bike, and immediately thought my battery had exploded. Walked her home, and took off the seat un-hooked the battery and the thing was REALLY hot. put on my gloves and even through the gloves i got burnt.. I think my HID kit was the cause of this issue. probably should have installed the relay.. DOH! anyway.. My bike is dead in the garage now.. gonna see if i can get a new battery and ill post back how it goes.
