Hello everyone, my name is mike and i'm going to look at a CBR600 f3 this weekend, and I've been researching about the bike and haven't really found much. This will be my first bike i'm going to own if i decide to buy it. I've been riding in general since i was 8 and i'm 21. I feel a little bit sketchy about this bike cause it has 52837 on the bike, but it starts up and has a new battery and tune up. It also needs the chain to be tightened up. Granted i haven't looked at it yet, it sounds like a good buy for $1000. Is there anything the wise board members that own F3's can tell me about what to watch out for?
heres a picture of the bike.

well eventually i'll just use the bike around town then, either winter rolls around or heaven forbid the bike takes a dump, i was going to do an F4i conversion. I have more than basic mechanics skills and have plenty of friends that weld. anything a newbie like me should watch for when buying the bike?

If not, its not a major problem to fix. Ask the guy about it, he may have had it done.
Did not want to make you worried about it, its just a flaw with CBR's & a common problem that gets mentioned a lot here. I should mention in the 10 years (coming up to 11) (touch wood) been the only problem that I have had with my bike.

He was referring to the r/r. As far as the CCT, there is a thread or two about a manual one. I'd check that out although I haven't done it myself as mine doesn't sound too bad yet.
