RE: 120/70 front and 180/55 rear?
so what are people saying
i have a 160 size diablo and i really want a wider tire
is 180 just not worth it? (price is not an option because i can get tires at whole sale) so is it safer to get the 170?
are you guys saying that a 180 will fit or will NOT fit? im hearing both.... i have a 98 f3

The bike was designed for a 160 rear and I would definately replace with that size. When you try to go wider you change the profile of the tire and it does not follow the same contour as you lean over. The 160 rear works with the 120 front, the 170 has a less pronounced curve from center to the side. If you want the most from your bike keep the size the same regardless of the deals on tires.
