+1 front sprocket
I'd like to lower the cruising rpm's of my F3. I was looking around on a gas mileage website and a guy on there went from averaging 50mpg to 58mpg with lowering his rpm's by 500 at cruise on his 500cc bike.

RE: +1 front sprocket
You'd lose a lot of acceleration, but highway cruising would be less buzzy, with better mpg.
It depends on how you use your bike. |
RE: +1 front sprocket
I was actually thinking of going -1 on mine for better acceleration but was worried about the handful of times that I do longer rides on the highway...

RE: +1 front sprocket
Ihad -1 inthe frontand a stock on the back and had no problem on the highway. Now I'm running -1 in front and +5 in the rear. It's still 150-160 mph gearing ratio, but the gas mileage sucks, but the performance is killer.

1 down 2 up FTW!!!

RE: +1 front sprocket
so maybe it would take me a whole 4 seconds to get to 60 instead of 3. haha i'm not really worried about it, more about cruising and better mileage.

RE: +1 front sprocket
I was taking a guess my speedo doesn't read right because its not plugged in. HaHa

RE: +1 front sprocket
may cause it to have more of a tentency to stall at lights. And would kill its performance in the twisties. Leave it stock.

RE: +1 front sprocket
stock isn't bad, i'm now getting 47-49mpg solidly when i gave up doing 40-110 runs at every on ramp haha.
