yay or nay?
Like some have said you would have to say what he is asking or what your willing to offer. It looks almost like rattle can paint to me I see there are some faring bolts missing on the bottom of the farings an there is a neon with the wires hanging from it on the underside of the bike.I would find out where the power and ground are at before you ride and have the seller take the farings off to make sure that things are in order.I see alot of what looks like e-bay stuff on the bike, rear breakfluid cap front and back pegs, bar ends and other odds and ends.Thats not always bad but I have seen and sent back some worthless bike parts from e-bay.How many miles are on it?And does it need anything to ride now?I would say keep looking if theres work to be done an there are out of the ordinary miles on her.Paint means nothing body shops will spray your plastics cheap and if you do the sanding and smoothing it will cost even less.Or try taking the plastics to your nearest tech center I am sure the students would get a kick out of it and it might just cost you the price of paint.
thanks for the feedback (good and bad). thats accually my bike and i did the paintjob. i wanted a non-biased opinion from everyone.
now to address some of the comments.
1) it has 30k miles on it and runs great. ive had it for 5 years and the only thing that has gone wrong is the ignition box. only issue is that it ticks when you first start it up for some reason. never had a problem with it though. any ideas on that?
2) yes its rattle can. i used that crylon stuff. i couldnt clear coat it though. for some reason if i tried spraying another coat it would spider web. (back story on the paint) someone was suposed to spray it for me but i got ****ed. the guy had the plastics for almost 3 months and only ended up sanding part of one side. so i had to do it or i would have left it. also the upper right plastic was broken, and the one i bought was red so i kinda had to. anyway i gave the guy a cbr engine that needed parts with a port and polished head. im not so upset because a year later a tornado leveled his house. sad thing i know, but karma's a bitch aint it.
3) decals and color. i chose black because the leds on the bottom have different colors so i wanted somthing neutral that would go with any color. i have also hidden that led on the bottom since then. i put the decals on so it would stand out a bit more. i'm not so crazy about the gas jeans decal either. i just felt like i needed somthing to even it out. it does have those parts on it though. not like the poser ricers.
i completely forgot there is a tech school near me that will paint it for the price of paint. what would be a good color or design though?

ticks when you first start it up = CCT is going bad (or needs adjustment if you have the manual one)
The paint looks good for a rattle can job. the stock decals would look way better though.

there is a sticky thread on here all about them... most common problem with the cbr. about $60 for the aftermarket APE manual cct.

I like it. Except for the stickers, which IMO suck. Luckilly they can be taken off.
My CBR looks very like that - my wheels are black but otherwise very similar. The moron who owned the bike before me had it plastered with RR and "Race Replica" stickers. I stoof by the side of the road after buying it for 2 hours peeling off the stickers! ;-)
