Should be counterclockwise I think to bring the idle lower. I ride an f4i, and my idle is right around 1300. Check the MOM, she'll tell you.

yep, i have mine about 1400.. pretty much have it under 1500 where you like it.
another thing, make sure the bike has been warmed up for about 10-15 mins of riding before adjusting..
also if your throttle isnt snapping closed fast enough you can adjust the throttle return also.but if its just the engine not coming down fast enough then the idle will fix that!

Idle should be set at 1200 +-100 according to the books. You need to make sure the idle is set correctly/synched and that the carbs are clean first. From there you could raise the idle speed by adjusting the throttle stop on the carbs. (**** on side of bike) ifthe speed isn't coming down, you have the **** too to the right. turn it to the left slightly and ride it some, then adjust more. if the bike is stalling, you then have carb or ignition problems as the engine speed should drop right away when you pull teh clutch and let go of the throttle.

is your grip rubbing anything makingthe throttle slow to return? I had that problem after I put progrips on... almost had cruise control for free!!

...looking in the owners manual for a 91 f2 warmed up and in neutral 1,200 +/- 100rpm , mine is at 1,500 though.

For standard street riding keep it about 1200ish. If you're doing track or aggressive riding run it up to about 22 to 2500 it help smooth out hard downshifts.
