What's it worth?

Yeah, I keep going back and forth, one second I'm about to pick up the phone and offer him 12, then I think, no...don't...wait... Then five minutes later I'm ready to pick up the phone again. I really think that he's not going to take any less. We told him we'd maybe give him a call sometime this week, so I'm gonna wait it out at least another couple of days. Even as I type this I'm thinking I should just call...haha, I never though it would be this stressful!

Hahahaha one day when i was a newb on my bike i was tearin down the freeway dumped the throttle in third gear past my buddie and his friends. Around 100 i felt something really hard hit my foot and I shrugged it off. Three miles later I stop at our destination and my friend is like "dude your fairing went flying into the ditch." I look at him in disbelief and then run back to the bike, sure enough. The fairing was gone.
It can happen, only a few screws hold on the fairings and to someone that doesn't know better **** happens. I've since improved my knowledge to say that unless you want to do all the work yourself, even still at that price it's a lot. Shop price for wheels are $300, chain around $300 and fairings as much as you want to pay i guess. It can get pricey quick.

Also when looking at bikes look at a few different ways too. I was thinking of going with a f3 or f4 yet in that price range of 2k they were beat up. If a bike is beat up and even if your bring it back to life it typically means it was abused as well (motor/tranny). So when shopping know you pay for what you get as well. I have seen some f4i's for 2.8k and I laugh knowing its beat up typically(scratches or something may be bent).

Yea, I know I'll get what I pay for, and I've been looking enough this last week that I know I can get a decent f3 for around 2500, and a decent f4 for around 3000 and up. I was just hoping to find something this spring that I'd have the cash for. If not, I can easily get a couple thousand from the credit union for something a little nicer. I don't want to spend a ton of money either because it's my first bike and I know I'm going to ride it for 2 years max before I find something newer.

i picked my f2 up last spring for 1100 and the guy had it on craigslist for 2000. It had been 12 oclocked and needed plastic or needed plastic fixed which i have done for the price of fiberglass. no frame bent or anything had to buy handlebars cuz the left broke when it hit the ground. i got about 1500 total in my bike rite now and its getting ready to go to paint next weekend. mine has 14000 miles on it. all i can tell you is look at what you are getting very closely and guestimate what you are going to have in repairs. if the repairs exceed your budget then move on to the next bike. and he might say 1500 bottom dollar rite now but flash 1200 cash in his face and see what happens cash talks bs walks
