What did I do wrong?

Here is a shot of my carbs.
http://i302.photobucket.com/albums/n...cture040-1.jpg Here is a close up of the red circled part that im pointing at Attachment 64133 I put the airbox back together and hooked up all breather/vaccum lines that I disconnected and I put the tank back on. I went to start it and gas started leaking from that pointed nozzle part I circled in the close up. I dont remember any line hooking up to that. Why was it leaking? Thanks |
Did you smash it somehow with the carb? Start it up and look where its leaking from. Dont get any on the engine or plastics

Is your bike a california model?
Where the circled piece is, on my bike, is just a hose "T" to join the 2 hoses to the main fuel line. I've never seen that piece before, if you could remove it and take some better pictures it might give me a better idea. |
Cali model. I started it up and its leaking from that nozzle. Im stumped, It was running perfect. All I did was remove the tank and air cleaner, and I put it back exactly how it was before. Ill try to take a better pic for you.

Do you have a service manual for the california model?
That piece has something to do with the emissions junk on that bike, if you can find it in the manual let me know. |
i can not find it in the manual
|
I think its called the purge control valve
Its under the CANISTER (AC) schematic http://www.bikebandit.com/houseofmot...2-1991/o/m2040 |
Well that nipple looks like a hose belongs on there... Do you have any loose hoses hanging around?
I wish I could be more help, but I am unfamiliar with the emissions system on the cali bikes |
It does look like something belongs there but I dont remember disconnecting anything from it and I keep double checking and I cant find any loose hoses. Thanks anyways Hershey I think Ima have to look at someone elses F2 or F3 to figure it out.
