Default This is VERY odd stangest thing ive seen in a while

ok i just bought a 1995 cbr (f2 appearently) the title clearly says 1995. the guy i bought it from listed it as a f3. i got it cheap outta season so im not too pist about it, i just wanna know for sure. after doing some picture research i found its CLEARLY a f2 with a f2 motor i know cuz im doing work on right now!! but from what i understand, f2's are from91-94 my title says its a 95. which leaves me highly confused. This is VERY odd stangest thing ive seen in a while-img00047-20090804-1635.jpg any thoughts?

It is an F2, possibly a write-off with frame damage and the frame was replaced with an F3 frame and re-registered as an F3 using the VIN on the frame.

Ive got the same thing. a 96 frame with everything else being a F2 of some year. lol

Quick question. Do your plastics line up really well or are the pretty screwed. Mine is the biggest farings lining up with the insert of the headlight piece. Tehy just dont go in. I cant figure it out.

I have a 1993 f2.. it came with different front fairing for the headlight and nose. The girl also gave me the orginal front fairing (left off the bike) i tried to put it on and nothing would line up. then i noticed from another f2 my side inserts (the little motor cover pieces) are different. so im thinking a have way different side fairings lol. looks good still so im fine with it, but im left with a useless front nose fairing if anyone is interested

i have the exact same problem. the big side fairings donot match perfectly with the headlight setup and front fairing. but mine is barley noticeable. your talkin about those tabs right that dont exactly fit in?

Babbits lists their OEM parts by VIN, you can use their search to see what model bike your VIN falls under:

2 important questions: Does the VIN on the engine match the VIN on the frame? Does the bike have a DAI system?

This is because the F2 and F3 front fairing stays are slightly different. Common problem when swapping plastics between the two.

it will be a 1994 F2, but the first dealer/owner wouldnt have registered it until 1995, and thats probably where the confusion came into it. a 1994 f2, but on paper its f3
