Under a gallon. bout 3.5 quarts.

**Oh - one thing - I flushed my cooling system a few weeks back and was going to add some Purple Ice myself. I was reading the instructions on the back of the bottle there at the auto-parts store, and it stated that it shouldn't be used in cooling systems that use distilled water.

That made no sense to me, as most vehicle shop manuals specify the use of distilled water, especially for vehicles with aluminum blocks, to prevent scale buildup. I read it like 3 times, and I'm a pretty sharp cookie. I dunno if it's a typo or what, but I just went to Royal Purple's website and read the tech FAQ's for the product, and couldn't find any warnings along those lines. I just emailed Royal Purple tech to see what that's all about.

Anyways - since I had 2 choices when I was flushing the system, I went with Redline Water Wetter, because it didn't have the distilled water warning.

Spent 4 hours on the bike yesterday in 102* Louisiana heat (high humidity) running pretty hard through the twisties at times, and my temp needle never got to the midway point on the gauge. Not sure my fans ever kicked on. I am sans-fairings right now, dunno if that will make a diff in how the radiator gets air.

followup from Royal Purple:

Good Afternoon Chris,

I am sorry for the confusion caused by our precautionary note. It is a victim of limited label space. The verbage about distilled water concerns use in a water-only cooling system. If you are using an antifreeze/water mix, feel free to use distilled water.

Thanks for choosing Royal Purple and have a great day!

Best Regards,

Christopher Barker

My local O'reilly's and Autozone both carry it in smaller bottles - you only need a few ounces of the stuff. It recommends 1 ounce per quart of coolant, so you'd need 4 ounces at best - I think the bottle is 12 ounces.

Water Wetter was the same way.
