Tires!?
Hello there.
I think its time to change the rear tire, the seller said it was new but it looks like it needs replacement (I dont know how a badly worn MC tire looks like, i can provide a picture)
I'm wondering what tire that fits me, and the climate here in norway, its mostly rain eccept for summer, then its not hotter than 25* C ( ~80* F ) Some driving on the winter/autumn is also required
What sizes fit my F2 rim? What tire is "the best"? Im new to the MC tire world, please enlighten me!
-Thanks

Look on the side of the tire for the size tire youll need. I think its 160/60 17. As far as type start reading lol there are so many tires out there. I have a dunlop qualifier for a rear and a battleax BT-016 for a front and i love it.
IMHO there's no such thing as "the best" tyre - everyone has their own preference and favourites. In reality, I would say most if not all modern tyres are more than good enough for road riding.
I would go for a "Sports Touring" or "Road" tyre as they are supposed to be designed for road riding and (apparently) have a lower operating temperature than "Sports" tyres. They last longer too!
There are loads to choose from - Pirelli Angels get good reviews, as do Dunlop Roadsmart. Michelin Pilot Road 2 are well regarded. Basically anything from the major brands will be OK, it's just down to personal preference as to which is the best - and the only way to find out is to try them!

Shinko will probably be the cheapest tire I ever run, although I've heard mixed reviews on the Tomahawk tires.
avon can be had for pretty cheap iirc and they are a pretty good tire. may not last quite as long but i'll take stick over life on an mc tire any day. i like my michelin pilot sports and have never had trouble in the rain with them. like has been said, you have plenty of good options. just remember tires are not a place to skimp on quality to save a few bucks
Indeed, tires are quite vital. For that reason, don't skimp at all. You may fork out some extra dollars, but those tires are what's keeping your wheels on the ground, and your head off of it. There are plenty of good brands out there that are reasonable. You don't have to run perellis if you don't wanna pay for 'em. I've heard to stay away from Shinkos. my 2c.
I've been running Bridgestone Battalax BT016's. Work pretty good, pretty well priced as well. Shinko actually has some good reviews, and the main difference people note is that they have a higher weight and therefore more centrifugal force, essentially make turn in slightly more difficult, but you'll feel (and arguably be) more planted in your turns and when cruising.
i run the battalax's as well, and never had an issue.
just remember on a new tire the manufacturer puts a coating on to keep from dryrotting on the rack before its purchased. need to take it easy for about 50-60 miles till that coating goes away. can be really slick if your not aware of it.
guy at the shop said he has had a few guys take off like a bat outta hell around the first corner by the shop and dump it right there....

i checked out my bike and i have continental sport attacks. these were new when i bought the bike 1000 miles ago. how are these in comparison? i haven't been able to get the bike over that much since its been cold lately but i have noticed this tire is a little slippery. ive locked up the back tire a few times downshifting. and even pop starting. i also have a question about rear sets but thats for another thread.
